  •  Persistence Does Pay Off

Do you ever wonder if you’re getting anywhere in life? Are you unable to see significant progress and consider your efforts futile? Do you question if you’ll ever achieve your goals and heart’s desires?

Many of us have this challenge. Persistence does pay off! In fact, most success comes as a result of pursuit when others either give up or continue half-heartedly (which has the same outcome).

As most of you know I am an avid WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) fan. The finals recently concluded in Detroit. I, like every other Phoenix Mercury fan, am ecstatic the team brought home the title. Thank you Mercury!

Not only was it a hard fought series, this has been a goal 11 years in the making! Each step in route to achieve the title was critical. To all involved the journey’s been worth it and the achievement is still awesome!

You may not even be interested in sports but this is a valuable lesson that parallels all of our lives. Going through the process we often do not see the pieces of the puzzle coming together. Frustration and doubt plague many of us. This causes many people to cease pursuit of their goals.

Ironically progress and success have the same key components as regression and defeat – both are gradual and often subtle. Sadly enough many people will allow the gradual and subtle to deteriorate the quality of their life. Imagine instead allowing the gradual and subtle to Empower Yourself.

According to Ann Meyers-Drysdale (GM of the Phoenix Mercury, an icon in women’s sports, and a dynamite person), “it takes courage.” When I’m in the trenches of life’s challenges, I too can feel alone and sometimes unwilling to persist. That’s when I ask: Which choice feels better? Which is the outcome I want?

Pursuit and success comes down to if you consider yourself worth it. I KNOW you’re worth it – Do you?
